BOAD GIVES 2.5 BILLION FCFA LOAN TO NIGER

Niamey, Niger (PANA) - The West African Development Bank (BOAD) on Thursday gave a loan of 2.5 billion FCFA to Niger's Water Company (SPEN) to partly finance a project for the extension and reinforcement of the supply network in Zinder, the country's second city, official sources said in Niamey.
The loan will be used to finance the rehabilitation of equipment and facilities and the extension of the water network to the city's suburbs.
BOAD president Boni Yayi and the SPEN director general, Seyni Alou, signed the loan agreement in Niamey Thursday.
